PLM resumes second half of Intramurals '25-'26

Rajah Sulayman Gymnasium was filled with resounding cheers and renewed competitive spirit as Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) resumed its sporting activities, bringing together students, alumni, and guests in a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship for the second half of Intramurals '25-'26 last Feb. 25.
The ceremony opened with the entrance and parade of colleges with each delegation marching proudly, reflecting the diversity and solidarity of the PLM academic community.
The welcoming address was delivered by University President Atty. Domingo “Sonny” Y. Reyes, who greeted the PLM community and expressed gratitude to the guests and alumni present. He emphasized that the Intramurals is not meant to create division but to strengthen relationships, reminding athletes and supporters that competition should always be rooted in camaraderie and mutual respect.
Delivering the opening remarks, PLM Sports Director Glenmarc F. Antonio introduced the alumni varsity guests and thanked the university offices and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event. He reminded the athletes of the theme, stressing that today’s rivals may soon become teammates in varsity competitions, underscoring the message, “We are one university, one Haribon.”
This was followed by a recognition segment for former PLM varsity players, honoring their contributions to the university’s athletic legacy by being the first recipients of the Haribon Athletics Medal. Their presence served as an inspiration to the current generation of student-athletes who aim to continue PLM’s tradition of excellence in sports.
The awarding ceremony was led by Pres. Reyes Jr., Sports Director Glenmarc Antonio, and Ms. Intramurals 2025-2026 Jana Stephanie Soto. Awards were given to the winners from the last semester in chess, table tennis, basketball, while special citations were also presented to the Basketball Mythical V.
Elevating the excitement of the ceremony, Basketball MVP Robin Austine Baez led the Oath of Sportsmanship, pledging fair competition, integrity, and mutual respect among athletes, while the Office of Student Development and Services (OSDS) officially proclaimed the opening of the second semester of Intramurals.
Through this reignition ceremony, PLM reaffirmed its commitment to fostering sportsmanship and school pride among students, ensuring that the Intramurals remains not only a competition of skill but also a celebration of camaraderie and shared identity as one Haribon community.
