The College of Business Administration (CBA) Jaguars roared to life, overpowering the College of Humanities and Social Studies (CHASS) Blue Ravens in straight sets (2–0) during the opening clash of men’s volleyball of the PLM Intramurals '25-'26, held at the Rajah Sulayman Gymnasium, Feb. 25.
In the first set of the match, the Jaguars took control early and displayed an immediate, sharp focus and aggressive play, dominating with quick kills and well-timed blocks, forcing the Blue Ravens to scramble on defense.
Midway through the set, a series of service aces widened the gap. The Blue Ravens tried to rally with a few counterattacks, but the Jaguars’ composure and steady ball distribution kept them ahead and closed the first frame at 25–15.
The Jaguars leapt their way into the second set, unleashing a five-point scoring run with Mark Pacia firing off decisive service aces, which left the Blue Ravens reeling and calling a timeout.
The break did not halt their momentum, and with relentless attacks, they continued to pile on points that left the Ravens struggling to establish a defense, bleeding errors as the Jaguars sealed the match with 25–14 boards.
The CBA Jaguars’ victory and commanding performance set the competitive tone for the volleyball games ahead; their dominance not only energized the crowd but also signalled the start of an exciting week of battles across different colleges and games.
The scheduled second game between the College of Nursing and the College of Science was postponed due to the recent fire incident near the campus; a new match date will be announced through the PLM Haribon Athletics Facebook page.
