In a series of friendly matches, women’s and men’s alumni teams faced off against their undergraduate team opponents at the Mass Communication Students’ League (MCSL) Basketball Alumni Cup, held at Rajah Sulayman Gymnasium, April 5.

PLM alumna and motor vlogger Jemarie Sun, also known as “Idol MOTO” on social media, contributed 20 points bagging the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for women’s basketball game.

Robert Atienza III was crowned MVP for men’s, tallying 13 points for the alumni team.

"Masaya naman. Most importantly, siyempre nag-enjoy lahat. Naipakita naman ang team camaraderie ng parehong team. Ang main point lang is mag-enjoy ang lahat," Atienza III said  after winning the award.

The women’s basketball game kicked off with six consecutive points from Patricia Sabando of the undergrad team, who finished the game with 14 points. However, she was later matched by the alumni’s Idol Sun with seven points.

Despite the undergraduates' spirited efforts, the alumni held firm with a final score of 40-32.

In the next match for men’s basketball, the alumni team came out with consecutive layup drives and floaters, led by Ronald San Juan pouring 17 points, 63-56.

Refusing to back down from the alumni holding the edge, the undergraduates spearheaded by Zyrus Elijah Ramos shows full display talents gathering 19 points, with an impressive 13-point contribution by Allaine Angelo Guballo.

The Defensive Player titles were awarded to Sheila Banguillan of women’s alumni and Ronald San Juan of men’s alumni.
