Gabriela Youth-PLM and Gabriela Women's Party led a protest in front of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) to condemn a recent hazing incident involving the university's Mandatory Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), May 20.

The protest drew participants from multiple organizations, along with parents of the victim who gathered to express their outrage and demand justice. The parents highlighted their disappointment with the administration's lengthy investigation process, calling for immediate action to address the ongoing issue of hazing within the institution.

Kahapon lang tas meron pa ulit sila na 5 days para sagutin – so ganon kabagal,” Randi Dela Cruz, the father of the victim stated.

Speakers at the rally emphasized the necessity for stricter policies and reforms to ensure student safety, insisting that hazing, violence, and harmful military actions have no place in academic environments. The protest also underscored a collective plea for accountability from the university and a commitment to protect students from any form of harm.

Last May 8, a Facebook post from the victim’s father circulated online seeking justice for his daughter. Investigations are currently ongoing, according to the PLM administration.
