“Open our eyes to truth and social realities. Listen to them and make a shared story. Our young age is not a limitation in doing more. We cannot do it alone. Embrace reforms and empower what makes us great.”
These are the lessons imparted by the Most Outstanding University Student awardee and Rizal Awardee for Exemplary Leadership, John Coby Cabuhat, as Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila gave spotlight to students’ excellence in the 2024 University Recognition held at Manila Metropolitan Theater, Aug. 27.
Cabuhat was also hailed as the Most Outstanding College Student for College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), along with Joshua Bumanlag for College of Information Systems and Technology Management, Cheelouvette Tiaga for College of Law, and Katherine Anne Medina for College of Nursing.
The CHASS Blue Ravens soared high to get the Most Outstanding College Award, while PLM Mathematical Society was recognized as the Most Outstanding Academic Organization and Rotaract Club of PLM as the Most Outstanding Non-Academic Organization.
Aside from academic achievements inside PLM, students’ triumphs outside the university were also honored, as they received the Student Achiever Award, Board Topnotcher Award, Performing College in Licensure Examination Award, and Above Passing Rate Recognition.
Rochelle Ann U. Rojo of College of Education earned the Manny Villar Excellence Award, which is given every year to the valedictorian of each graduating class.
The 2024 University Recognition, along with the awarding of medals and certificates, were led by University President Sonny Reyes, other university officials, and college deans.
