PLMayer clinches 1st Grand Finals spot in ‘Bilyonaryo Quiz B’ S2

Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) student Lee Roy Leoncio secured the first Grand Finals spot in Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “Bilyonaryo Quiz B: College Edition Season 2” after topping the show’s first semifinal with 14,000 points, Aug. 8.

The Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English contestant finished ahead of Jeff Bryan Himor of Far Eastern University (FEU Manila), who scored 10,000 points, and Ramon Francesco Carbon of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), who ended with 5,000 points. 

Leoncio entered the semifinal after winning the elimination round, where he overcame a score deficit in Round 2 to secure his place among the three semifinalists.

He carried his momentum into the first round of the semifinal, accumulating 8,000 points from questions covering various fields. 

Leoncio initially struggled in Round 2 after choosing the category “Political Quotes” and failing to score on the first four questions. He regained control of the game after identifying “Archaeopteryx” as the avian dinosaur considered the earliest known bird, bringing his score to 11,000 points.

He finished the round with 14,000 points, finishing ahead and securing a spot in the Grand Finals. 

Leoncio then faced the Bilyonaryo Bonus Round, where he had 60 seconds to answer questions from the mystery category “Command and Conquer,” which centered on notable military leaders and commanders.

He correctly answered four questions, earning an additional ₱16,000 and bringing his total episode winnings to ₱30,000.

Leoncio is the first Grand Finalist of Season 2 and will compete for the P1-million grand prize package.
