Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila’s (PLM) representatives clinched a spot in the grand finals of the hit student quiz game show, Gimme 5: Laro ng Mga Estudyanteng Henyo of noontime show Eat Bulaga after claiming victory in the qualifying round yesterday, June 19.

Representing the university were Nathaniel O. Pabona and Ramille C. Ibarra, both from the BS Electronics Engineering program. The duo initially earned their spot in the qualifiers during the preliminary round on April 24, where they successfully guessed three words and took home a cash prize of ₱50,000.

PLM faced off against Jose Rizal University (JRU) and St. Joseph College - Olongapo, Inc. for the qualifying round. With the first round, PLM only managed to answer one of the five possible words. However, their score was enough to place them second, pushing them into the next round alongside JRU.

They had a better run for the second round where PLM scored two correct answers, advancing themselves to the jackpot round despite JRU having an advantage of selecting the category first but failing to guess any of the words.

Pabona and Ibarra hit two correct guesses again, bagging a ₱30,000 cash prize and securing their place as the fourth school to qualify for the grand finale.

Now among the five universities advancing to the finals, the PLM team will compete for the grand prize of ₱200,000 in the championship round tomorrow on June 21.
