The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila Supreme Student Council (PLM-SSC) ratified the resignation of its Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO), Christian Alfonso, Sept. 30.
According to Resolution No. 20, Series of 2026, the PLM SSC received Alfonso’s resignation letter on Sept. 26, which was subsequently subjected to a hearing by the SSC Core Committee.
Alfonso cited his academic responsibilities, personal well-being, and pursuit of opportunities outside the council as reasons for his resignation.
During the deliberations, a total of 15 out of 16 Core Committee members were present. Ten voted in favor of ratifying Alfonso’s resignation, while none voted against and five abstained.
Following the ratification, Alfonso is required to turn over documents, records, files, and other official matters to the appointed officer-in-charge for the Office of the Public Relations while the Acting PRO position is currently in vacancy.
The SSC is yet to proceed to the process of filling the vacancy in accordance with the PLM SSC Constitution and By-Laws.
Last July 9, the PLM SSC ratified Alfonso’s appointment as the Acting PRO for the Academic Year 2026-2027.
