Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) took part in the Fiesta de Bandas y Calesas alongside other Intramuros universities, businesses, and government offices in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Pontifical Coronation of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación y Correa, Patroness of Intramuros, Sept. 13.
Marching bands and decorated calesas filled the historic streets of Intramuros, kicking off the first-ever grand parade at the 2nd Fiesta de Intramuros.
Representing PLM, College of Public Administration students Arnie John Fulledo and Liahnne Margareth Sison proudly waved from the university’s own calesa.
This event was part of the Manila Tourism and Creative Industries Month 2025, organized by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila (DTCAM) in collaboration with the Intramuros administration.
Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso and Vice Mayor Chi Atienza attended the opening of the event at the Kartilya ng Katipunan, where the parade began before making its way to Fort Santiago.
Devotees then gathered at the San Agustin Church for a solemn mass which was followed by the Serenata ng mga Banda spotlighting city and community bands.
This year’s Fiesta de Intramuros was initially expected to culminate on September 27 with a P-Pop Tourism Fiesta featuring bazaars, workshops, a battle of the bands, and a concert. However, the event had been postponed due to weather conditions and will be rescheduled at a later date.
