PLM College Councils record 11 resignations, 2 impeachment cases in A.Y. ‘25–’26

Several student councils of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) underwent leadership changes during Academic Year 2025–2026, with some colleges confirming 11 overall resignations and 2 impeachment proceedings, while others reported no structural shifts.
At the university level, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila Supreme Student Council (PLM-SSC) confirmed several leadership developments during the academic year. Marc Laurenze G. Pacia resigned from his post last year, Sept. 19 as Acting Auditor due to personal matters and conflicts.
The council also approved the resignation of Benjamin Maenard R. Francisco, former Director for Accountability of the PLM-SSC, who stepped down from his position last year, Nov. 22, following allegations of non-consensual sharing of private photos circulated through anonymous posts on Reddit and Facebook.

In the PLM College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Student Council (CHASS-SC), two officers stepped down from their posts. Jazlene Xianel C. De Guzman, CHASS-SC president who resigned last year, Sept. 15, after pursuing her studies in another institution, while Ma. Natasha R. Cimene, CHASS-SC auditor, cited increasing work and scholarship demands as reasons for her resignation.
During the same period, the council adopted a resolution impeaching Benjamin Maenard R. Francisco, CHASS treasurer, on grounds of neglect of duty and actions deemed dishonorable to the college and council.

The PLM College of Engineering Student Council (CE-SC) reported multiple resignations throughout the academic year. Patrick Norman Villarte, Senior Officer in the Presidential Committee – External Affairs Division, resigned last year, July 16, due to academic responsibilities and part-time work commitments.
Trisha Kei Danielle H. Español, Senior Officer in Production Committee and STRAW Committee Representative for Arts and Culture, stepped down last year, Oct. 13 after being diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ulnar Nerve Entrapment, and Myofascial Pain Syndrome and is currently on leave of absence.
Quentin Joyl F. Mendoza, Junior Officer in STRAW Committee – Academe Division also resigned last year, Sept. 20, after “careful consideration.”
Meanwhile, Executive Treasurer Allyzza Marie C. Brillante and Overall STRAW Head Sofia Irish Santiago Tan were both honorably dismissed last Jan. 14 and Jan. 28 respectively, and completed the necessary turnover processes. No impeachment cases were recorded in the council.

Similarly, the PLM College of Education – Student Council (PLM-CEDSC) formalized leadership transitions through official resolutions. Treasurer John Rainer Vizconde resigned effective June 18, 2025, after completing all required clearances in accordance with council guidelines.
Auditor Arwina T. Calleja later resigned effective Oct. 27, 2025, with her resignation processed under the same procedures.
The council also adopted a resolution upholding the impeachment of Mx. Fernando “Ferns” S. Levardo, who previously served as Public Relations Officer.

In contrast, several college councils reported no resignations or impeachment proceedings for A.Y. 2025–2026. These include the PLM College of Business Administration Student Council (CBASC), PLM College of Public Administration Student Council (CPASC), PLM College of Physical Therapy Student Council (CPTSC), PLM College of Tourism and Hospitality Management Student Council (CTHM), PLM College of Nursing Student Council (CN), PLM College of Accountancy Student Council (CA), PLM College of Information Systems and Technology Management Student Council (CISTM), and PLM College of Architecture and Sustainable Built Environments Student Council (CASBE).
Across the university, records from the different councils reflect a combination of leadership transitions and sustained continuity within their respective student bodies for the current academic year.
