PLM awards top-performing students, faculty in university recognition

Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) merited its top performing students, academic organizations, alumni, and faculty in the University Recognition held at the Justo Albert Auditorium with the theme "PLM Transformation: Quality Education for the Public Interest," Sept. 26.
Manila's premier university awarded the University Academic Excellence Award to its undergraduate students who have obtained the highest overall general weighted average (OGWA) across the university in their respective year level. Among the awardees were Michelle N. Tolentino (1st Year) from the College of Engineering (CEng); Catherine Jules C. Juvida (2nd Year) from the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS); Yuanah Marie S. Cruz (3rd Year) from CEng; Eduardo D. Yungca (4th Year) from the College of Education (CED); and Aliah Jane P. Garcia (5th Year) from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP).
College Academic Excellence awards were also given to students who earned the highest OGWA for the whole academic year per course and year level in each college. Whereas the Most Outstanding College Student Award and Student Achiever Award were granted to students per college who have excelled in the aspects of academics and extracurricular endeavors.
Rean Christine T. Estimo from CHASS and Ahnnie Mayleen A. Solidum of CEng were recognized as PLM's most outstanding college students. Estimo was also commended as the Most Outstanding University Student. Meanwhile, Jilmar John M. Contreras earned the Student Achiever award from his recent 3rd placing during the 6th National Civil Engineering (CE) Wizard Quiz: Clash of CE. Moreover, PLM also honored Lance Emmanuel J. Ladrazo from the PLM Business School (PLMBS) with a Posthumous Recognition.
Despite the abundance of student-led organizations inside the Pamantasan, the Mass Communication Students' League from CHASS emerged as the Most Outstanding Academic Student Organization while the Magwayen Creative Scholars' Guild stood out as the Most Outstanding Non-Academic Student Organization.
Furthermore, the College of Architecture and Urban Planning Student Council (CAUP SC) outshined as the Most Outstanding Student Council Award.
PLM also took pride in its alumni by bestowing the Board Topnotcher Award to those who were included in the top 10 in their respective professional licensure examinations.
Among the recipients of the honorable recognition in CEng were Jolison Kenneth G. Arita, Nieve Rain S. Ugto, Jayson Patrick B. Bantog, and Reindel N. Mallari.
Ninna G. Hapita, Jesse Ian F. Cambaliza, Shiela Mae T. Legaspi, and Bryan D. Pablo from the College of Physical Therapy (CPT) were also given the said award as they placed 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th respectively in the December 2022 Physical Therapy Board Examination while College of Medicine (CM) alumni Philip Patrick P. Lee and Karla Joyce S. Badong were also recognized for the same award for their 2nd and 3rd respective finish during the March and October 2023 Physician Licensure Examination.
With this, CEng, CM, and CPT were merited with the Performing Colleges in Licensure Exam Award.
The recognition of the advisers of all student councils and accredited organizations were also observed towards the end of the program as Ar. Maria Monica E. Pujalte, adviser of the CAUP SC, was hailed as the Model Campus Adviser.
