PCACS closes PLM Intramurals 2023 with awarding ceremony; Pres. Reyes shares plans on sports development in PLM

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) - Presidential Committee on Arts, Culture, and Sports (PCACS) concluded the PLM Intramurals 2023, which began on July 2023, with an awarding ceremony at the Rajah Sulayman Gymnasium, March 5.

Teams of student-athletes from various colleges gathered to celebrate camaraderie and triumph they have showcased during the different sports competitions last year.

PLM President Atty. Domingo Y. Reyes, Jr. opened the awarding ceremony with gratitude towards PCACS and its Head, Prof. April May Bonoan, for inviting him to the ceremony and awarding of the PLM student-athletes even though he was not yet president during the conduct of the said sports event in the University. He also thanked the students for making time to attend the awarding despite their busy schedules.

Pres. Reyes also shared his plans for PCACS during his term, specifically for the year 2024, that the administration together with the committee will enhance the sports program in PLM.

“We are now in talks with other schools. We will have an intercollegiate sports [event], mayroon na kaming mga school partners… Magkakaroon tayo ng tryouts for basketball, for volleyball, and other sports, and I hope you will all take interest in this. So aside from our intramurals, we will also have interschool activities,” the University President stated in his opening remarks.

Thereafter, Pres. Reyes, assisted by Ms. Intramurals 2023 Bethany De Guzman from the College of Nursing, spearheaded the awarding of medals to the winners of the various sports events– from Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, and Cheerdance.

Prof. Bonoan then officially closed the PLM Intramurals 2023 with her speech, thanking all those who participated in the university sports event. She also announced that the PLM Intramurals 2024 will be held this coming June.
