New set of PLM SSC, CSC officers take oath of office

Incoming Supreme Student Council (SSC) and College Student Council (CSC) officers formally took their oath of office in the Oath-taking and Turnover Ceremony conducted by the PLM Student Commission on Elections (COMELEC) at the Bukod Tanging Bulwagan, May 30.
PLM COMELEC was joined by incoming and outgoing officers of the SSC and college students councils of College of Architecture and Sustainable Built Environment (CASBE), College of Engineering (CE), College of Education (CED), College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), College of Information Systems and Technology Management (CISTM), College of Nursing (CN), College of Public Administration (CPA), College of Business Administration (CBA), College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM), College of Science (CS), and College of Physical Therapy (CPT).
In her speech, outgoing SSC President Margarette Madrid highlighted the responsibilities of student leadership and acknowledged her fellow outgoing officers who had worked alongside her during her term.
Atty. Jasmine Micah R. Jabal administered the oath of the incoming officers and led their lei hanging and presentation of certificates. This was followed by the turnover of necessary materials to incoming student council officers.
“To the new set of officers—congratulations. As you take your oath today, may you be reminded that leadership is a responsibility,” Atty. Jabal said.
Lone elected SSC officer President Madielyn Retiro was joined in the council by appointees Rainiel Austine Josh Bautista, Vice President; Clarence Avecilla, Treasurer; and Jamilynn Mackenzie Modelo, Public Relations Officer.

Retiro emphasized the importance of inclusivity, prioritizing student needs, and adopting a more hands-on approach to leadership in the upcoming academic year. She also underscored the significance of active student participation in university politics as a means to foster a more equitable and supportive working environment for all.
“...Dahil ang tagumpay ng konseho ay hindi nakasalalay sa mga nahalal, kundi sa buong pamantasan na nagbibigay saysay sa ating layunin,” she stated.
