LRMC launches LRT-1 “KasakaySayan”

Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the operator of LRT 1, launched the creative advocacy project “KasakaySayan” on Thursday, Dec. 11.

The added feature plays short audio stories that highlight trivia and history behind each station of the LRT-1. These audios play after every station announcement using the public address (PA) system.

“We believe that a better journey is not just about a faster and safer ride. It is also about a more meaningful and enriching experience. [...] We are more than just a mass transit system; we are a vital artery running through the historical and cultural center of Metro Manila. By integrating historical facts into our train’s public address system, we are making LRT-1 a moving historical corridor,” LRMC External Relations Head Atty. Elaine B. Tiu said during the launch.

The launch was attended by the project partners DDB Group Philippines and Renacimiento Manila, along with guests, organizations, and media.
