Members of the university’s official publication gathered for the Ang Pamantasan General Assembly (APGA) 2026 with the theme “Talas ng Panulat, Tibay ng Paninindigan” at the Bukod Tanging Bulwagan (BTB), May 25.
The program featured two resource speakers recognized for their extensive expertise in the field of journalism. It officially commenced with Prof. Rolando F. Defeo, who challenged members to critically reflect on the kind of journalists they aspire to become. His discussion engaged with contemporary issues, virality, and responsible journalism.
Meanwhile, the second resource speaker, Prof. Lorna G. Bayani, emphasized the importance of humanity and conscience in journalism, describing those who lack conscience as “halang ang bituka.”
Following the discussion were team building activities aimed at strengthening collaboration among staffers.
Held annually, APGA serves not only as a space for members to connect beyond their editorial work, but also as a platform that fosters integrity, collaboration, and accountability among student journalists.
