The filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and College Student Councils (CSCs) Halalan 2026 officially commenced yesterday, Feb. 23, marking the start of the electoral cycle.

According to the PLM Student Commission on Elections (SCOMELEC), the filing period will run from Feb. 23, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, until March 6, 12:00 PM. Moreover, resubmissions will be accepted until March 6, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Under the guidelines released on Feb. 22, candidates must personally file their requirements, which include a duly accomplished COC, Data Privacy Act consent form, Student Enrollment Record (SER) on the current semester and one semester prior to the election, as well as their Academic Information Management System (AIMS) grades two semesters prior to the election.

Additionally, they must also submit a Certificate of Good Standing and Certificate of Taking Prescribed Units issued by their college dean.

All documents except for the filled COC and consent form must have their dean’s wet signature and be enclosed in a sealed long brown envelope labeled with the candidate’s identification details at the back, top left corner.

Completed requirements must be individually submitted at the drop box outside the PLM SCOMELEC Office, located on the second floor of the Gusaling Villegas (GV). Individuals should also log their submissions at the designated logbook placed beside it.

According to the PLM SCOMELEC Chairperson Czar Marc Anthony Sanvictores, they have not received any filings for the AM session of their first day but are expecting submissions to pool by next week. They have also posted the sample requirements and submission guidelines outside their office as references.

The target date for the release of the unofficial list of candidates is on Mar. 7, after the last date of filing, while the student council elections are set to take place on Apr. 24.
