AP welcomes new key editors for A.Y. ‘26-‘27

Ang Pamantasan (AP), the official student publication of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, formally introduced its newly-appointed Key Editors for Academic Year 2026–2027 during its Transition and Turnover Ceremony, July 4.

Following the annual Editorial Examination (EdEx), Rob Carlo V. Elle was appointed as Editor-in-Chief, Sofia Angela T. Robles as Associate Editor, and Kate Mariel P. Gilbero as Managing Editor. The three emerged from a pool of 12 qualified applicants who underwent a rigorous selection process on June 27–28.

The EdEx consisted of two stages: a competitive examination designed to assess the examinees’ proficiency in various forms of journalistic writing followed by a panel interview that evaluated their values, leadership potential, and dedication as student-journalists.

The examination and selection process were administered by the EdEx Committee, chaired by Angel Crismar Joy Udtohan, with publication advisers Prof. Emmanuel S. Martinez and Prof. Norliza M. Nordan, former Editor-in-Chief Calvin Kristan Agustin, and GMA Network Executive Producer David A. Ramos serving as committee members.

As the publication’s highest-ranking officers, the newly-appointed Key Editors will lead the Editorial Board, the highest governing body of Ang Pamantasan. They are tasked with overseeing the publication’s editorial operations, directing its journalistic initiatives, and appointing members of the Editorial Board, with the authority to create additional designations when deemed necessary.
