They say the American Dream has passed and moved to greener pastures in Canada!

This was the first glimpse of students from the College of Nursing, College of Physical Therapy and College of Medicine of Canada-based institution Centennial Colleges’ visit in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila at the Justo Albert Auditorium, Aug. 16.

During their visit, they highlighted internationalization partnering with numerous universities abroad, to provide students with adventure and meaningful learning experiences.

One of the speakers, Natashia Deer, the Chair and professor of Nursing Programs at Centennial Colleges, shared about the Bachelor of Science in Nursing-Collaborative Nursing Degree (BScN) wherein it can be bridged from courses taken in PLM, specifically with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Deer also demonstrated “LAERDAL” which is a Modular Skills Trainer, an interactive device that aids students in return demonstration practices and intervention administrations. In this way, students can go to complete their program and obtain hands-on experiences abroad with state-of-the-art equipment and laboratories.

Aside from a  $21,000 CAD annual tuition fee grant (approximately more than P700,000), Centennial Colleges also offers financial aid, assistance and scholarships to international students such as the Loyalty Scholarship for International Alumni and the Pathfinder International Student Scholarship.

Veronique Henry, the Dean of the School of Communities and Health Studies nudged the possibilities of having exchange students between the college and PLM, sharing that they are in efforts with PLM to “make it happen soon.”

“Having some of you guys sent over there and some of our students sent over here, I’d really work hard to see [that] happen,” Deer added.

Centennial Colleges is a world-class institution based in Ontario, Canada offering over 100 programs, some of which are international-eligible.
